Florence-Darlington Tech Stingers Receive Donation From Nucor Steel

Florence-Darlington Technical College men's baseball team, the Stingers, recently welcomed a $4,000 gift from Nucor Steel Division of Darlington. The donation will be used to pay for the student athlete's gym memberships at Darlington's Fitness World.

Stinger Head Coach Curtis Hudson thanked Nucor officials for their gift saying, "Strength training is vitally important to our players and these memberships will help them on and off the ball field."

Fitness World's Curtis Boyd welcomed the Stingers. "We're proud to be associated with the Tech Stingers and look forward to helping them with their workouts."

The Stingers clinched the National Junior College Athletics Association Region X championship for 2006 with an overall record of 41 wins to 16 losses. The team is practicing for their third season of play which begins next February. The Stinger men play their home games at Florence Legion Field.
