FDTC Students, faculty and staff members Volunteer to help Needy

The holidays are here and the Florence-Darlington Technical College chapter of the Southern Organization for Human Services Education or SOHSE is making no sew quilts for Christmas presents to the House of Hope.

Recently the club of student and faculty members gathered to begin making the quilts which require no sewing skills other than being handy with scissors.

Also, the Human Services Department has joined forces with the Student Activities and Athletics Departments to begin their annual Holiday Food Drive.

They're asking for donations of any non-perishable food items or food gift certificates.

Items can be brought to the Human Services offices in Room 5216 or downstairs to the Student Activities and Athletics office on the ground floor of the 5000 Building.

Also, The Student Nurse's Association is working with a local transitional shelter to provide for two families and the shelter for Christmas. The association has an angel tree set up in the 2nd floor student lounge at the Health Sciences Campus. The nursing students are taking donations for the shelter. Gifts and donations may be dropped off at Athena Russell's office until Dec. 8.
