This program uses classroom and laboratory experiences to provide students with civil engineering technical skills which will prepare them for careers in the environmental field, surveying, construction, design, and testing.

Land Surveying or Licensing: The South Carolina Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors has approved the CET Curriculum and CET Curriculum courses as qualifying graduates to become certified as a Land Surveyor-In-Training and for registration as a Tier A Land Surveyor. To take the first step toward registration as a Registered Land Surveyor, or Certification as a Land Surveyor-In-Training, one must complete the CET Curriculum including 12 semester credit hours of approved mapping and surveying courses that are part of the CET Curriculum. The approved courses are as follows: CET 105 - Surveying I, CET 205 - Surveying II, CET 250 - Transportation Engineering Technology, EGT 105 - Basic Civil Drafting.

Graduation Requirements

Complete all required courses specified in the curriculum.
Fulfill all financial obligations to the College.
Achieve a cumulative final GPA of 2.0.
Earn at least 25 percent of the total credit hours of his/her curriculum at FDTC. Exceptions can be made only by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
