Students will build mastery by using ARC welding on steel pipe and TIG welding on steel and stainless steel pipe. Additional topics include pipe fitting skills and processes such as print reading, piping calculations, material takeoffs, material cutting processes, pipe beveling, and layout practices.
College: Successful completion of One-Year Welding Diploma Program or Successful passing of an open butt “V” groove weld test on 3/8” carbon steel plate in the vertical and overhead position – TIG the root and hot pass and SMAW with E7018 fill and cap.
NOTE: A grade of "C" or better is required for each prerequisite course.
