Nursing Simulation Lab - FAQs
Q: Do you have to be a nursing student to use the Nursing Simulation Lab?
A: YES. The Simulation Lab provides enhancement to student learning in the clinical setting. It is designed to provide realistic patient care scenarios for nursing students at all phases of the curriculum which encourage the development of caring, communication, teaching/learning, professional behavior, and critical thinking skills while increasing clinical competency in a wide variety of patient care scenarios. Each student will rotate through the Simulation Lab one time each semester by scheduled appointment which is coordinated with the instructor and lab director.
Q: What can you do in the Nursing Simulation Lab?
A: Students can participate in a chosen scenario based on the course content of that semester and practice on clinical skills and competencies for increased clinical exposure in a controlled environment.
Q: When is the Nursing Simulation Lab open?
|Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm||Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 5:30 pm|
|Friday 8:00 am - 11:30 am|
Q: Do you have to schedule an appointment for the Simulation Lab?
A: YES. All appointments are scheduled through your instructor. Then your instructor will contact the lab director to schedule the appointment. Students are allowed to come into the Simulation Lab for extra practice or make-ups BUT must be referred by their instructor.
