AARP Foundation Women's Scholarship Program

The AARP Foundation's Women's Scholarship Program provides scholarship funds to women 40+ seeking new job skills, training, and educational opportunities to support themselves and their families. The AARP Foundation Women's Scholarship Program is available to eligible individuals with moderate to lower incomes and limited financial resources.

Arabella Rogers Scholarship

The Arabella Rogers Memorial Scholarship Fund is awarded to students selected to participate in the Learning Program at Hartsville High School. The Guidance Counselors at Hartsville High School selects the scholarship recipients each year.

Baron Blackmon Scholarship - GE

GE Magnet Systems of South Carolina established a scholarship at FDTC in honor of a former colleague and skilled maintenance professional, Baron Blackmon. This is an annual $500.00 scholarship for students in the fields of studies listed: Industrial Electricity/Electronics, Welding, Machine Tool, Machine Technology, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning).

Other criteria: Sons, daughters, grandsons, and granddaughters of GE employees and retirees will receive first consideration. Applicants must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Open to full and part time students. Each annual scholarship shall be to a different student who has not received a previous Baron Blackmon Scholarship. The scholarship shall be provided in two payments over a school year, $250.00 for each semester.

Carolinas Auxiliary of Carolinas Hospital System

The Carolinas Auxiliary of Carolinas Hospital System is awarded to a student enrolled in the Allied Health Program.

D. L. Scurry Foundation

The D. L. Scurry Foundation awards six to eight scholarships per year to students who need financial assistance.

Darlington Rotary

The Darlington Rotary Scholarship is awarded to a Darlington resident student.

Drs. Bruce and Lee Foundation Allied Health

The Drs. Bruce and Lee Foundation Allied Health Scholarships are awarded to deserving Allied Health curriculum students. Must be residents of the following counties: (Florence, Darlington, Dillon, Marion, Williamsburg, Clarendon, Marlboro)

FDTC Educational Foundation Scholars Award

Recipients of the FDTC Educational Foundation Scholars Award will be in the Ambassador program and will generally present a cumulative GPA of 2.5. The award is worth $250.00 annually- Two (2) year value $500.00. Non-resident Ambassadors receiving this scholarship will receive significant tuition reduction qualifying for the in-state tuition rate.

Florence Amateur Radio Club Scholarship

Florence Breakfast Rotary Club Fund

The Florence Breakfast Rotary Club Scholarship Fund awards a scholarship annually to a deserving student.

Florence Junior Welfare League Fund

The Florence Junior Welfare League Fund has established a scholarship to be awarded to a deserving second year Florence County student.

Florence-Darlington Technical College Alumni Association

The Florence-Darlington Technical College Alumni Association has established a scholarship fund to assist deserving students in achieving their education.

Florence-Darlington Technical College Faculty Senate

The Florence-Darlington Technical College Faculty Senate awards a scholarship to deserving students.

Frank M. Sessoms Fund

The Frank M. Sessoms Scholarship Fund, established in memory of Mr. Frank M. Sessoms, awards a scholarship to a deserving student who resides in the college service area.

Greater Pee Dee Area DPMA

The Greater Pee Dee Area Data Processing Management Association Scholarship is awarded to a second-year Computer Technology student.

James (Pop) Dorsey Memorial

James (Pop) Dorsey Memorial Scholarship is established in memory of James Dorsey and is awarded to a Business student from Marion County.

John M. Paxton

The John M. Paxton Scholarship, established in memory of John M. Paxton by the employees of Horne Ford, awards a scholarship to a deserving student enrolled in the Auto-Diesel Technology program.

Kraikit Fund

The Kraikit Scholarship Fund awards a scholarship to a deserving student in the Nursing program.

Ludie Munn (June) Coleman Fund

The Ludie Munn (June) Coleman Scholarship Fund is established by friends of the late June Coleman and is awarded to an Automotive Technology student from the Lake City area.

Maggie Sessoms Memorial Fund

The Maggie Sessoms Memorial Scholarship Fund is awarded to a deserving student.

Marion Daniels Scholarship

Pee Dee District Dental Society

The Pee Dee District Dental Society Scholarship awards scholarships for Dental Hygiene and Dental Assistant students residing in the Pee Dee area.

Pee Dee Electric Cooperative

The Pee Dee Electric Cooperative Scholarship is awarded to a student who is affiliated with Pee Dee Electric as a member-owner or as a dependent of a Pee Dee Electric Co-op employee.

Pee Dee Federal Credit Union

The Pee Dee Federal Credit Union awards a scholarship to members or their dependents of the PDFCU.

Professional Secretaries International

The Professional Secretaries International Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the Office Systems Technology curriculum. The Florence Chapter of PSI chooses the scholarship recipient each year.

Roche Carolina

Roche Carolina has established a scholarship to be awarded to a student enrolled in the Chemical Engineering Program.

Segars Realty

The Segars Realty Scholarship is awarded to a deserving student residing in the Hartsville area.

Tech Stars

The TECH STARS Scholarship Program provides funds for tuition, books and supplies, and a loan-to-own laptop computer, to twenty-nine eligible full-time students pursuing degrees in Engineering Technology or Computer Technology. The program is subject to continued funding through a CSEMS (computers, science, engineering, mathematics) grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Visiting Nurses Association

The Visiting Nurses Association awards a scholarship to a deserving student enrolled in the nursing program.

Winston Mark McElveen Memorial

Winston Mark McElveen Memorial Scholarship -- Nursing Program -- recipient to be from the greater Hartsville area or Darlington county. Preferably an older student beginning a new career.

The following scholarships require that the College nominate a student for consideration. The Scholarship Nominations Committee publicizes these scholarship opportunities, informs students of the application procedures and determines the College's nominee.

Datatel Scholars Foundation Scholarship Program

Because Florence-Darlington Technical College is a Datatel client, the Datatel Scholars Foundation Scholarship Program may consider FDTC students for the following four scholarships offered:

Datatel Scholars Foundation Scholarship This scholarship is for outstanding students currently attending an eligible Datatel client institution. The Datatel Scholars Foundation scholarship is open to fulltime and part-time students (taking at least six credit hours).

The Angelfire Scholarship Honoring soldiers who have served during combat, the Angelfire scholarship is for outstanding students currently attending an eligible Datatel client institution, who served in the Vietnam War, their spouses and children, or refugees. Scholarships are also available for soldiers who served in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and/or Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Returning Student Scholarship This is for any student currently enrolled in school after experiencing a five-year or more absence.

Nancy Goodhue Lynch Scholarship This is for any student majoring in an Information Technology curriculum program. At FDTC these programs include Computer Technology or Electronics Engineering Technology with Networking with emphasis in routers and switches.

Only on-line application submissions will be accepted. The application will be made available from September 1st – January 31st. No submissions will be accepted after 5:00pm EST, January 31st.

By the first working day after February 15th, the Scholarship Nominations Committee will send the nominations for each scholarship to Datatel. Winners will be posted on Datatel’s website usually by May.
