Getting Started

Improving your life with a college education can be accomplished at Florence Darlington Technical College by following these steps. You can do it and we are here to help you every step of the way.

Admissions

Tell us about yourself so that we can admit you into the perfect program that will prepare you for a great job right after graduation....or prepare you to transfer and complete a bachelors degree at a four year college or university. Complete your application now!

Assessment

As a student, you will need to complete placement assessments to guide you in selecting the right courses for your most successful path at FDTC.

Financial Aid, Scholarships and Paying Your Bill

Money should never be the reason that you can't attend college. Federal financial aid is the biggest source of money for students attending college and the FAFSA application can be done online. Even if you're not eligible for federal financial aid, South Carolina offers residents many other options including scholarships for academic merit and other funds that are made available from the proceeds of the South Carolina Lottery. The Financial Aid office can help you apply...or you can begin the process yourself by accessing the financial aid application on line at www.fafsa.gov.

Advising and Registration

Once you're ready, you can sit down with an advisor who can talk with you about courses and careers. Your advisor will help you to select a schedule that is built around you. You can choose day, evening and even online courses that fit into your busy life. Students also have the option of taking courses at our satellite sites in Hartsville, Mullins and Lake City. Time, place and distance--we've got it all covered. Students can also complete the registration without an advisor by reviewing course requirements and available course schedules on line, then use the College's WebAdvisor system to register for classes from home, work or any other place where there is Internet access.

Paying your Bill

At FDTC, you can pay your bill at our website. If you need a little more time to come up with all of the funds, we offer a payment plan  that will allow you to pay your bill over the course of the term.
