New Student Orientation is designed to help you start strong and succeed at FDTC. During New Student Orientation, you will learn about:

Register for New Student Orientation

Welcome to Florence-Darlington Technical College! Follow the steps below to access and complete your online New Student Orientation.

Log In to myFDTC

Click the myFDTC button below and log in using your FDTC Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials.

  • Username: Use the username provided in your FDTC acceptance letter. Your student email will follow a format similar to First.Last1@student.fdtc.edu. The number following your last name may vary by student.
  • Password: Use the password you created when you accepted your admission to FDTC.

Find Your New Student Orientation

Once logged in, locate the New Student Orientation message at the top of your myFDTC dashboard and click Start Orientation.

Complete Your Orientation

Review all orientation materials carefully to learn about the resources and services available to support your success at FDTC.

  • Lastly, complete the survey and acknowledgment agreement confirming that you have completed the orientation.
  • Prepare for Success: Learn the next steps to begin your journey at FDTC.

In-Person Orientation Dates

In-person orientation is only available for first-time in college students. You'll need to register for orientation before attending.

New Student Orientation helps prepare you for your first day at Florence-Darlington Tech (FDTC). You will learn about your academic program, financial aid and scholarships, college policies, student support services, and important resources available to help you succeed. Orientation also helps you understand where to go and who to contact when you need assistance.

Yes! New Student Orientation is required for all incoming students enrolling in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. All new students must complete the online orientation before the first day of classes.

Absolutely! Orientation is a great resource for any student who wants to learn more about FDTC, explore available services, and become familiar with the College. Even if you have attended college before, you may find helpful information to support your success at FDTC.

Online orientation is available to all incoming students and can be completed at your convenience. FDTC also offers in-person orientation sessions during the summer. You can register for the option that works best for you. Remember, all incoming students are required to complete the online orientation. Simply, following the instructions on the orientation page.

Yes! All Dual Enrollment students taking college-level courses are required to complete New Student Online Orientation.

No. New Student Orientation is completely free!

Yes. You may register for classes before completing orientation. However, all incoming students must complete the required online orientation before the first day of classes. The Orientation Team will monitor completion and contact students who have not finished the process.

Online orientation takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. You can work at your own pace and start and finish when it is convenient for you. Be sure to complete all required sections before the first day of classes.
