Program overview

This 60-hour course provides a comprehensive introduction to medical terminology, with a focus on the essential vocabulary needed for success in healthcare settings. This course is designed for students who wish to gain a foundational understanding of medical terms related to the human body. Using a system-by-system approach, students will explore key anatomical structures, diseases, conditions, procedures, and medical abbreviations relevant to each body system. Through a combination of theory and practical exercises, students will learn to break down complex medical terms into their component parts-roots, prefixes, and suffixes-allowing them to decode unfamiliar terminology with ease. The course will also emphasize correct pronunciation and spelling, ensuring that students are prepared to communicate clearly and accurately in a clinical environment.
