Program overview

The Sterile Processing Technician course equips students with the knowledge and skills to become competent and safety-conscious Sterile Processing and Distribution Technicians (SPDT) in various healthcare settings. Students will learn the principles and procedures for decontamination, sterilization, preparation, storage, and distribution of medical instruments and equipment. The curriculum also covers the operation of sterilization units and techniques for monitoring sterilization effectiveness. Upon successful completion, students will be prepared to take the Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician Certification Exam, paving the way for a career as a Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician.
