Program overview

This course covers the safety, equipment and skills used in the Shield Metal Arc Welding process. You will learn to set up the Welding equipment, select the proper polarity, select the proper amperage, electrode selection, metal preparation, hand-eye-hand coordination, and control molten puddle out of position. This is done in construction and maintenance. You are learning to use 6010 and 7018 rods.
