Program overview

This course is designed to train individuals in the identification, installation, and repair of the different types of valves used in the nuclear and fossil power industries, the chemical and petroleum industries and other industries that use piping and valves in their operation. The student will go to work with a maintenance contractor, an industry's maintenance department, or in new construction. This course is classroom and lab/hands-on time. Additionally, this program is one of three CWD programs that can prepare and train students for work in the nuclear power industry. The Valve Technician program is 5 weeks (200 hours) and costs $2,500.
