Continuing your College education in another country can be scary, but it shouldn't be hard! We are here to help make this process as easy as possible for you.

Follow the 4 steps below and you'll be attending classes before you know it!

Step 1: Apply to FDTC

The easiest step of the whole process is to simply APPLY!

Step 2: We Need a Few Things From You

Residency Status/Visa Type

Items Required

Permanent Resident/ Green Card Holders (Tuition is based on residency)

 

Or

 

Visa Holder and Dependents of: A-1, A-2, A-3, E-1, E-2, G, H, I, J, L-1, N, O, R, S-1, S-2, TN

  1. A copy of your Visa/Permanent Residence Card should be submitted electronically to admissions@fdtc.edu or brought to the Admissions Office in the 5000 Building, Room 5313. If you are a dependent, you must also submit the Visa of the principal Visa holder. (Example: J-2 students must submit both the J-1 and J-2 Visa)

  2. Official High School Transcript. If your high school transcript is from a non-English speaking country, it must be translated. We recommend WES (World Education Services)

  3. Official College Transcripts. If your college transcript is from a non-English speaking country, it must be translated. We recommend WES (World Education Services)

All transcripts should be submitted electronically to admissions@fdtc.edu or by mail to:

Sealed Transcripts/GED may also be submitted directly to the Admissions Office in the 5000 Building, Room 5313.

M-1 or F-1

 

Applications must be submitted and processed at least 3 months before the semester begins.

  1. Official High School Transcript. If your high school transcript is from a non-English speaking country, it must be translated. We recommend WES (World Education Services)

  2. Official College Transcripts. If your college transcript is from a non-English speaking country, it must be translated. We recommend WES (World Education Services)
  3. Test Scores
    English-speaking Countries - SAT scores within the last 5 years, or you may complete our Accuplacer Placement Test once you arrive
    Non-English-Speaking Countries - TOEFL Scores: 500 (Paper Pencil) or 173 (Computer-based) or 61 (Internet-based) and take our Accuplacer Placement Test once you arrive.

  4. Completed Financial Affidavit certified by bank indicating $24,000 USD.

  5. Passport and I-94: You will submit these once you arrive.

Once we process your application, we will issue an i-20 by mail or email.

Step 3: Access Your New Accounts

It's now time to access your student email, myFDTC Self-Service, and your Desire2Learn(D2L) accounts. 

We will be sending you all the directions you need to access these accounts so don't worry. You should receive this information the following business day after submitting your application.

If you have any trouble accessing these accounts once you have received your sign in information, reach out to our IT Help Desk at 843.661.8123 and they will make sure you can get in.

Step 4: Register for Courses

Once you've been accepted, it's time to schedule an appointment with our Advising Center to register for courses. They will help you to make sure you're in the right classes for your degree path.
