
FDTC Foundation Executive Director Earns Prestigious Fundraising Certification
Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) is proud to announce that Sheryl Love, Executive Director of the FDTC Educational Foundation, has been named a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) by CFRE International. Love joins a distinguished group of more than 7,700 fundraising professionals around the world who hold this prestigious credential.
“Sheryl is a champion for student success here at FDTC, and this achievement further demonstrates her dedication to securing resources that transform lives,” FDTC President Dr. Jermaine Ford said. “We are proud of her commitment to excellence and ethical fundraising on behalf of our college and community.”
The CFRE designation is the only globally recognized certification for fundraising professionals and sets the standard for ethical and effective fundraising practices. Love’s certification reflects her leadership, professionalism, and deep commitment to the mission of FDTC and the students the college serves.
“As a life-long learner, I am committed to educating myself on what the best practices are and the measures of excellence in fundraising,” Love said. “We have some big plans here at FDTC and I want ensure that our team is ready.”
To earn the CFRE credential, professionals must meet rigorous standards that include years of fundraising experience, educational requirements, documented achievements, and a comprehensive examination. Additionally, CFREs pledge to uphold the highest standards of accountability and donor stewardship.
“The CFRE credential was created to identify for the public and employers those individuals who possess the knowledge, skills, and commitment to perform fundraising duties in an effective and ethical manner,” CFRE International President and CEO Eva E. Aldrich, Ph.D., CAE, (CFRE 2001-2016) said. “As the certification is a voluntary achievement, the CFRE certification demonstrates a high level of commitment on the part of Ms. Sheryl Love to the fundraising profession and the donors who are served”
Love has led the FDTC Educational Foundation since August 2022, working to build relationships and raise support for scholarships, academic programs, and capital projects. Her efforts directly contribute to the college’s mission of transforming diverse lives through excellence and innovation in education.
The CFRE certification is valid for three years and must be maintained through ongoing professional development and continued fundraising success.
