FDTC Softball Head Coach Madison Ragan named NJCAA Region 10 Division I Coach of the Year
Madison Ragan, Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) head softball coach, has been named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 10 Division 1 Coach of the Year award following another competitive season for the Stingers Softball program.

The award is voted on by fellow head coaches across the NJCAA Region 10 Division 1 softball and recognizes excellence in leadership, player development, competitiveness, and overall program success throughout the season.
“This nomination means a great deal to me,” Coach Ragan said. “I am extremely appreciative of the award and the recognition, but all the recognition should be going to my players, and this is a team award. They are the ones that made the decision every day to compete at a high level. I wouldn’t be in this position without the support of the great people here at Florence-Darlington Tech.”
During the 2026 season, Ragan guided the Stingers softball team to a 31-21 overall record (19-5 in region 10), continuing the upward trajectory of the softball program. FDTC remained competitive throughout conference play while showcasing one of the region’s most resilient and hard-working teams. Stinger softball also recorded several high-scoring wins during the season and performed very well during Region 10 tournament play.
Since arriving at FDTC, Ragan has helped establish a strong foundation for the softball program through recruiting, player development, and cultivating a competitive team culture. Her leadership has helped position Stingers softball as a growing force within the Region.
Ragan arrived at FDTC following coaching stops at Andrew College, and Southland Academy, where she helped develop multiple All-Conference student-athletes and contributed to one of the most successful stretches in Georgia Southwestern softball history, including the program’s first two 30-win seasons during the NCAA era. As a player, Ragan earned All-ASUN First Team honors at after previously winning an NJCAA National Championship and two state championships at Chipola College. Following her collegiate career, she was selected in the inaugural ASBA professional softball draft in 2018 and helped Team Outkast capture the regular season championship.
